our client says Reise ins geheimnisvolle Königreich Mustang Am 1. Mai 2010 machten sich, 7 abenteuerhungrige Schweizer auf den langen Flug nach Kathmandu. Einerseits mit grosser Vorfreude und andererseits mit einem etwas mulmigen Gefühl, da in ganz Nepal einen Generalstreik vorausgesagt wurde und wir nicht wussten ob unser Trekking ins Königreich Mustang wirklich zustande kommen wird. Doch am Flughafen in Kathmandu wurden wir schon von Yagya unserem Trekkinguide vor Ort freundlich empfangen und er cauffierte uns mit dem Bus das erste Mal durch die Strassen von Kathmandu in unser Hotel im Stadtteil Tamel. Durch den Streik waren alle Einheimischen auf der Strasse, überall wurden Parolen gerufen , rote Flaggen und T-Shirt getragen, es herrschte ein richtiges Chaos und das richtige Leben stand völlig still, ausser wir als Touristen wurden noch in der Stadt herumgefahren. This short trek commences from Pokhara, the valley of lakes offering panoramic views of the Annapurna massif as also of the Lamjung and Manaslu Himal. This route was first trekked by The Prince of Wales in 1980 and hence is known as the ‘Royal Trek’. This is the best trek for any age group who want to experience village life and striking mountain views in a relatively short period of time.

Itinerary Detail
Day 01: Kathmandu Upon your arrival in Kathmandu, Grace Himalayan will officially greet and meet you at Airport & transfer you to Delux hotel. You will have leisure time, followed by an evening welcome dinner at a typical Nepalese Restaurant. Overnight in Kathmandu (1,000m/3,280ft).

Day 02: Kathmandu Half-day guided city tours with the home language  tour guide (tour includes Kathmandu Durbar Square, Syambunath Stupa, Pashupati Nath Temple - Hindu Temple & Buddha Nath - The biggest Buddha Stupa in ancient Kathmandu). Afternoon 
pre-trip discussion of the trek. Overnight in Kathmandu 3,280ft).
 
Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (914m.) which takes about six hours. You depart early morning at 7 o'clock for the six hours drive by tourist deluxe bus to Pokhara (915m,), 200 kilometers west of Kathmandu. As you climb out of the Kathmandu valley, only to quickly descend again to the Trisuli River, you follow upstream to its junction with the Marsyangdi River. You follow the Marsyandi gently up through heavily terraced fields and small hill towns to the Seti River that takes you directly into Pokhara. Having pleasant weather, Pokhara is tourist's paradise with full of natural as well as cultural heritage sites such as lakes, caves, temples of Buddhist and Hindus along with mountains. You can observe views to the north across the hills and Phewa Tal (lake) to the white peaks of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. This drive will take most of the morning, leaving much of the afternoon to fall in love with its beauty.
You can also fly from Kathmandu to Pokhara which takes about 25 minutes.
 
Day 04: Drive from Pokhara to Bijayapur Khola (Bijayapur Army Camp)-Kalikasthan (1370m.) which takes about five hours. A broad trail starts through rice fields near the Army Camp, and then ascends through Rakhigaon to a Chautara, a resting place under a large pipal tree. En route, you can enjoy the views in panorama. Now the trails climb gently along a ridge top through the Brahmin and Chhetris villages towards Kalikasthan at (1370m.). At the end, you should climb a short distance to the campsite which is situated above the village with panoramic view of mountain, Begnas Tal and Pokhara city.
 
Day 05: Trek from Kalikasthan(1370m.) to Lipeyani (990m.) and takes about five and half hours. The trails follow along the forested ridge top through rough motor able road passing through Thulokot and Majhthana (1220m.). Now, your trail begins to climb gently for some distance and through Naudanda. At the end, you could descend gently towards Lipeyani. From here, you can see panoramic views of Machhapuchhre, Annapurna ranges, Lamjung Himal and Manasalu.
 
Day 06: Trek from Lipeyani to Chisopani (1260m.) which takes approximately six hours. The trails follow along the motor able road for some distance and start to climb gently for short time. Then you begin level trek to Shaklung village (1250m.), a Gurung village. Now, your trek follows along the broad motor able road passing through forests and reach at Ramkot (1030m.), then descend steeply to cross road named as Sarka Bhanjyang (870m.). Now your trail climbs steeply through stone staircase through chestnut forests to the Mohariya Bhanjyang (1130m.). Still you continue climb gently towards Chisopani village, a home of Gurung community. Your campsite is about 50 meters above the village. From here, you could enjoy the beautiful views of different mountains as well as green hills and terraces.
 
Day 07: Trek from Chisopani (1260m.) to Begnas Tal Bazaar (850m.) which takes about five and half hours. From Chisopani Danda, you descend along the ridge for an hour or so and descend steeply along the stone steps, into a small valley and stream that feeds Rupa Taal. Continue for a short distance through rice fields, and then make a final ascent to the ridge that separates Begnas Taal and Rupa Taal. This ridge is called Sundari Danda (720m.) means pretty Hills. From these hills, your trek continues climb gently and descends into Begnas Taal Bazaar. Now you can take a vehicle to get back to Pokhara.
 
Day 08: Drive back from Pokhara to Kathmandu by bus which takes seven hours. While driving from Pokhara to Kathmandu, you head up to Damauli,, Dumre, Muglin and Kurintar where the Nepal's first Cable car is operated to reach to Manakamana Temple. En route, you could enjoy the mountain views, green sceneries, rice terrace fields, vegetable fields and people being engaged in their daily life activities. From Naubishe you climb up to Thankot, the gateway to capital city. 
You can also fly from Kathmandu to Pokhara which takes about 25 minutes.

 Day 09: Explore day in Kathmandu-1,350/4,428ft
This pleasant day you may have full day at leisure and either relax at hotel or explore the Thamel and overnight at hotel.

Day 10: Final Depature to your onward Destination
Today is free or last minute shopping for souvenirs or gift to your family, friends or relatives for you until your departure flight/drive or to commence any extra trips or activities you may have booked with us. If departing, you'll be transferred to the International Airport for your departure flight to your onwards destination.
