our client says Reise ins geheimnisvolle Königreich Mustang Am 1. Mai 2010 machten sich, 7 abenteuerhungrige Schweizer auf den langen Flug nach Kathmandu. Einerseits mit grosser Vorfreude und andererseits mit einem etwas mulmigen Gefühl, da in ganz Nepal einen Generalstreik vorausgesagt wurde und wir nicht wussten ob unser Trekking ins Königreich Mustang wirklich zustande kommen wird. Doch am Flughafen in Kathmandu wurden wir schon von Yagya unserem Trekkinguide vor Ort freundlich empfangen und er cauffierte uns mit dem Bus das erste Mal durch die Strassen von Kathmandu in unser Hotel im Stadtteil Tamel. Durch den Streik waren alle Einheimischen auf der Strasse, überall wurden Parolen gerufen , rote Flaggen und T-Shirt getragen, es herrschte ein richtiges Chaos und das richtige Leben stand völlig still, ausser wir als Touristen wurden noch in der Stadt herumgefahren. Müde und froh sind wir dann im Hotel angekommen und genossen ein par Stunden für uns bis wir uns dann gemeinsam zum Abendessen trafen. read more View All

Itinerary Detail

Day 01: Kathmandu Upon your arrival in Kathmandu, Grace Himalayan will officially greet and meet you at Airport & transfer you to Delux hotel. You will have leisure time, followed by an evening welcome dinner at a typical Nepalese Restaurant. Overnight in Kathmandu (1,000m/3,280ft).

Day 02: Kathmandu Half-day guided city tours with the home language  tour guide (tour includes Kathmandu Durbar Square, Syambunath Stupa, Pashupati Nath Temple - Hindu Temple & Buddha Nath - The biggest Buddha Stupa in ancient Kathmandu). Afternoon 
pre-trip discussion of the trek. Overnight in Kathmandu (1,000m/3,280ft).

Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (914m.) which takes about six hours.
You depart for the six hours drive to Pokhara (915m,), 200 kilometers west of Kathmandu. As you climb out of the Kathmandu valley, only to quickly descend again to the Trisuli River, you follow upstream to its junction with the Marsyangdi River. You follow the Marsyandi gently up through heavily terraced fields and small hill towns to the Seti River that takes you directly into Pokhara. Having pleasant weather, Pokhara is tourist's paradise with full of natural as well as cultural heritage sites such as lakes, caves, temples of Buddhist and Hindus along with mountains. You can observe views to the north across the hills and Phewa Tal (lake) to the white peaks of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. This drive will take most of the morning, leaving much of the afternoon to fall in love with its beauty.
You can also fly from Kathmandu to Pokhara which takes about 25 minutes.
 
Day 04: Trek from Pokhara to Bumdi (1525m.) and it takes about five hours.
The trekking to Panchase commences from the lakeside town of Pokhara traveling south west before looping into the main Annapurna trekking region. The area around Panchase is well known for its array of bird and wildlife. The first five days trekking are away from the more frequented trails providing an opportunity to experience the wealth of culture to be found in this area. We eventually arrive at Ghandruk the largest Gurung village in the region and the Center of the Annapurna Area Conservation Project. We rest up for a day to explore this ornate Gurung village which provides some serious views of the mountains Macchapucchare (Fishtail) Annapurna South and Himchuli before a two day trek back to Pokhara.
 
Day 05: Trek from Bumdi to Bhanjyang (2000m.) which takes about six hours.
 
Day 06: Trek from Bhanjyang to Tilahar (1020m.) via Panchase (2509m. and it takes about six hours. 
 
Day 07 Trek from Tilahar to Dobate (2655m.) which takes about six hours.
 
Day 08: Trek from Dobate to Jaljale (2975m.) and it takes about six hours.
 
Day 09: Trek from Jaljale to Ghorepani (2856m.) via Poon Hill which takes about five and half hours.
 
Day 10: Trek from Ghorepani to Poon Hill (3180m.) to Hille (1475m.) which takes about five hours. Early morning trip to Poon Hill (3232m.) to enjoy the sunrise view over Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167m.), Tukuche Peak (6920m.), Nilgiri (6940m.), Varaha Shikhar (7847m.), Mt. Annapurna I (8091m.), Annapurna South (7219m.), Annapurna III (7855m.), Machhapuchhre (6993m.), Annapurna IV (7525m.), Annapurna II (7937m.), Lamjung Himal (6931m.) and other numerous snowcapped mountain peaks. After breakfast, you again follow gradual descent path through the forests of rhododendron and oak upto Banthanti. It is a small village where you can pause for hot and cold drinks. Then the trail descends to Ulleri (1960m.), a big Gurung village from where you can enjoy view of Annapurna South, Machhapuchhre and Hiunchuli. From here the trail upto Tirkhedhunga is steeply descent passing terraces and some villages. After a short walk of 15 minutes from Tirkhedhunga, you reach Hille. It is also a small Gurung village with surrounding green hills. Most of the inhabitants of this village are occupied in agriculture
 
Day 11: Trek from Hille to Nayapul (1050m.) via Birethanti and it takes almost three hours and drive from Nayapul to Pokhara which takes about one and half hours. This day’s trek gradually descends following Bhurung Khola (Bhurung Stream) all the way to Birethanti before you cross the Modi Khola over the suspension bridge. You are amazed to pass small villages, see the magnificent waterfalls and walk through the sparse forests. 
 
Day 12: Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu by tourist mini bus that takes about seven hours. While driving from Pokhara to Kathmandu, you head up to Damauli,, Dumre, Muglin and Kurintar where the Nepal's first Cable car is operated to reach to Manakamana Temple. En route, you could enjoy the mountain views, green sceneries, rice terrace fields, vegetable fields and people being engaged in their daily life activities. From Naubishe you climb up to Thankot, the gateway to capital city. 
You can also fly from Pokhara to Kathmandu which takes about 25 minutes.

Day 13: Explore day in Kathmandu-1,350/4,428ft
This pleasant day you may have full day at leisure and either relax at hotel or explore the Thamel and overnight at hotel.

Day 14: Final Depature to your onward Destination
Today is free or last minute shopping for souvenirs or gift to your family, friends or relatives for you until your departure flight/drive or to commence any extra trips or activities you may have booked with us. If departing, you'll be transferred to the International Airport for your departure flight to your onwards destination.
